ADNAN VIRK: FORGIVENESS IN THE FACE OF DISCRIMINATION

For some time now, knowing that a relaunch of Sports by Brooks was in the offing, I’ve contemplated what the first post of “SbB 2.0” should be about.

After watching this remarkable, albeit short, talk that former ESPN on-air talent Adnan Virk gave after learning his family mosque in Connecticut had been shot up by his next-door neighbor in 2015, my choice was made. (Virk remains the only practicing Muslim ever hired for on-air duty by ESPN.)

Stay tuned for subsequent coverage of the tragic, unjustified circumstances of Virk’s recent termination by ESPN in this same space.

Welcome back.
