The TENNESSEAN reports that Young apologized to, um, young fans for the photos, saying he wants to be a good role model for children:
“I was having a good time with friends … and you know how it is, as a quarterback you can’t have too much fun. I blame myself for that, but at the same time you have to watch certain things.”
Looks like Vince is starting to learn some lessons from Matt Leinart.
Over a month ago, photos leaked out of Leinart living it up with some local underage Arizona ladies, featuring beer bongs, hot tubs & other fun activities. And of course, the blogosphere & media had a field day, even though it was no picnic for Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhut.
And now Vince seems to understand the folly of flashing out some fun:
“That is the life of a quarterback, somebody of my status. I guess somebody was trying to make some money and sold the picture to the web site. But at the same time that is the life I chose to live. But it is not going to stop me from having fun. I just have to watch myself.”
Honestly, it wasn’t that bad of a photo. Maybe the appearance of a chick here or a babe there would have quelled concerns about Vince being spotted at a sausage fest. And it would have been less worrisome had Vince been out in the open air sans-shirt instead of a small room.
But shirtless celebrity does have it’s advantages. Just ask Jeff Reed.
