Tuesday morning Barack Obama released his long-form birth certificate, presumably to once-and-for-all silence the “Birther” movement.
Mere hours before the certificate was released, Monday night Texas Tech Coach Tommy Tuberville appeared on Sean Hannity’s “Great American Panel” on FOX News to discuss the subject.
Hannity: “He (Obama) could just get the birth certificate and it’d all over and I’m just curious why he wouldn’t do that?”
Tuberville: “We’ve got enough controversy in this country, I don’t know why he wouldn’t just step up and say here it is.”
Hannity: “Move on.”
Tuberville: “Obviously there’s got to be something on there that he doesn’t want anyone to see. I don’t understand it. I’m an American. I don’t understand why we just go through this. I think it just continues to divide the country.”
Next time I write that Tuberville is fed up with The Administration, I’ll be sure to clarify.

It is not a matter of Obama being born somewhere else but more the “arrogance” as to why he took nearly 3 years to produce it…..that is the issue. It is part and parcel to the fact Obama doesn’t feel like he works for us…..just his cronys and his out of touch agenda. It is a sad state of affairs.

If anything, Birthers are doing a real disservice to the country by focusing on whackjob stuff like the birth certificate when there ARE real policy issues that Obama could be challenged on. It makes me think either Birthers don’t have any real disagreements with Obama ( which would make sense if the Birthers supported GW Bush, since Obama’s actual presidency is fairly close to his).. or they are simply incapable of doing so.
As far as the birth certificate goes, Obama wasn’t hiding anything. The problem was the Birthers were asking him to do something that NO ONE ELSE has ever had to do. I am an adult, married with kids. I have had to deal with birth certificates several times in my life, and every one has been a “short form” or “Certificate of Live Birth.” No one has ever questioned mine, just as no one has ever questioned any president or politician other than Obama, and the reason is obvious.
If anything Birthers HELPED Obama out a lot with this bs and made it very difficult for any principled serious conservatives or libertarians to focus on the issues.

I am Canadian, and love the whole ‘birthers’ thing. It appears that the US is so wound up on non-issues that you guys are missing the big picture: for the last 40 years you have been spending a lot more than you have been earning, and borrowing to cover the difference. As a result, China and Japan now own most of your debt, and you pay billions of interest to them each year.
Objectively, this is not a problem that Obama (or Bush, or Clinton, or Reagan) started, it goes right back to the 1960’s. The US has been spending like drunken sailors and now you are so far in debt you will NEVER get out. The government will have to default on some of the debt, and the markets will force you to balance you books. That will mean a lot of pain and a lower standard of living from that point on.
Instead of asking for a frigging birth certificate, talk to your representative to get them thinking about balancing the books. Otherwise, it will not be pretty.

Quick correction. Deficits went down under Clinton and Federal Governmnet was on it’s way to having current year surpluses. Clinton also fixed Social Security and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise; It’s fine until 2050 and easy fixes are available (uncap the maximum income for tax purposes) if that’s a problem for you.
Bush 2 gave those surpluses away with his tax cuts predominately for the weathy. Deficits exploded when Bush 2 decided to fund two wars and medicare drug benefits a on the national credit card. Deficits also increased unded Reagan and Bush 1.
You say you are a Canadian but get your facts straight before commenting on US fiscal policy.
