Mike Bianchi of the ORLANDO SENTINEL writes today that Florida football coach Urban Meyer has been accused of enabling a girl to land a gymnastics scholarship at UF because her boyfriend was a highly-prized football recruit.

Bianchi: “There’s been much consternation on the recruiting message boards in recent days about Meyer’s controversial and potentially illicit recruitment of star junior college wide receiver Carl Moore and — here’s the juicy part — his girlfriend, Maranda Smith. There are reports that Moore likely wasn’t going to attend UF unless Smith — a gymnast who had competed for UCLA in 2006 but quit because of an injury — came to Gainesville, too.”

So what did we think when we saw this story? Of course, PICTURES! (and we’re not talking about Meyer or Moore).

Sadly, there’s not much out there of Ms. Smith. But we did find the below snap.

She’s definitely a cutie, but from what we can tell, isn’t worth a full ride (except if you’re Moore).
