This Friday, Tommy Lasorda will be telling young graduates to go forth, as he’s scheduled to give the commencement address for Argosy University. It’ll be the 8th school he’s given the farewell speech to.

Not bad for a guy “who never attended a single day of college as a student.”
So, what exactly is Argosy University? And will Florida State schedule them for next season? Read more…

With Pope Benedict coming to America this week, good catholic Tommy Lasorda plans on meeting the pontiff. And this will be the third pope he claims he’s had the honor of visiting with in person.

However, Tom Hoffarth of FARTHER OFF THE WALL questions Tommy’s truthfulness of one of his papal encounters.

After six decades of vacationing in Vero Beach, the Dodgers are departing Dodgertown for the last time.

(Shouldn’t that be *61* Memorable Years?)
The Los Angeles squad played its final spring training game in Florida on Monday - a 12-10 loss to the Houston Astros. (Seems Houston has L.A.’s number these days.) But now the Blue Crew will be packing up and trading beach sands for desert sands, as the team will start training in a new facility in Arizona next season. Read more…

Tommy Lasorda was back in the Dodgers dugout on Tuesday. Two innings later, he was back out.

(Looks like someone stopped taking their Slim Fast)
The LOS ANGELES TIMES reports on the Hall of Famer managing the Blue Crew for the first time in 12 years, while regular boss Joe Torre takes a trip to China. And it wouldn’t be a Tommy Lasorda game without Tommy arguing with the umps. Read more…

We’re back in L.A. this week. Yes, we’re excited to be home, but our spirits were further raised during our first, senseless, late night trip to 7-Eleven. The store featured a giant, shiny cardboard display of a topless Marisa Miller on the cover of SPORTS ILLUSTRATED - right next to the door as you walk out (with hands firmly in pockets).

(Looks like a transfer to Wichita State may be in order)
And while we were in line waiting to pay for our Slurpee™, we were treated to Tommy Lasorda, in an ad over the PA, telling us to where he gets his transmission serviced (no, not Jumbo’s Clown Room - Aamco).
Speaking of SI.com, so about the photo. Read more…

Remember the old story about how Mike Piazza was drafted by the Dodgers in the 62nd round? Piazza’s father Vince was close friends with Tommy Lasorda, and the former Dodgers manager had the selection made as a favor to Senior Piazza.

Mike Piazza has since gone on to fame and glory in baseball, along with marrying a nudie model (nothing wrong with that). And we now know waaay too much about the financially-transacted sexual proclivities of Mr. Lasorda.
What we didn’t know was the real story of Vince Piazza, until today. Read more…
