Jason McIntyre of TheBigLead.com has a nice catch today, reporting on Steve Phillips mistress Brooke Hundley lashing out at her former lover.
In comments on her Facebook account this week, Hundley disputed that Phillips was a sex addict, claiming that a “true sex addict has an unrelenting need to get sex anywhere anytime and rack up multiple people.”
“Sex addicts don’t pick out a single young employee to go after who has to worry about her career if she says anything. Steve’s not a sex addict. The only thing he’s ever been addicted to is feeding his own ego.”
On the contrary, if sex addiction does exist, the definition of it is what Steve Phillips did. Sleeping with someone like Hundley despite having everything to lose. Would a man of sound mind risk his career and family to have sex with a co-worker like Hundley? Read more…
Brooke Hundley appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America today to face the stalking charges brought against her by Steve Phillips and his wife Marni.
She offered no apologizes, saying instead, “I would hope that at some point he (Phillips) would grow up and take responsibility for his own actions.”
Hundley’s main point throughout the interview was the implication that she was being harassed by Phillips.
ESPN disagreed. The net released a new statement to GMA on why it fired Hundley: “Our investigation determined Hundley’s characterization of events was inconsistent.” That is to say, Hundley claimed she was harassed by Phillips’, but ESPN’s investigation found no proof to that effect.
She said that she felt the same fear that Phillips’ wife did when she placed the frantic 911 call. How she makes that connection between herself and Phillips’ wife, Hundley doesn’t make clear.
See for yourself after the jump.
You just knew the New York tabs were going to drag the woman from Steve Phillips‘ first publicly-reported affair, Rosa Rodriguez, out of the cesspool.
(Phillips’ flings best described with two words: Shovel. Ready.)
NEW YORK DAILY NEWS:
The brunette who turned Steve Phillips’ head - and wound up in his bed - when he was the Mets’ general manager surfaced on Thursday with a knowing smile on her face.

TMZ keeps us current on our Opposite Day! post category, reporting that Brooke Hundley requested a restraining order against Steve Phillips 24 hours after she spooked Phillips’ wife Marni by dropping off a letter at the Phillips home that entailed her undying love for the ESPN analyst.
In the request, Hundley claims that while on an ESPN baseball road trip, Phillips “bought me a strong drink and then cornered me … trying to persuade me to come to his hotel suite to spend the night.”
As details of the utterly botched affair between Steve Phillips and Brooke Hundley emerge, two patterns seem to become clearer. One: Phillips probably had no business ever hooking up with a 22-year-old, much less a co-worker. Two: He certainly underestimated Hundley’s crazy.
(Still say this relationship could work.)
As the NEW YORK POST continues its investigation, it looks like Hundley’s posing as a high school classmate of Phillips’ son wasn’t an isolated incident; she appears to have a knack for assuming new identities online, identities crafted for the sole purpose of getting into the Phillips’ life and breaking up the marriage. Next stop: CRAIGSLIST.COM; why, where else is someone supposed to hire a phone stalker for $50?
TMZ has the frantic 911 call Marni Phillips made when Brooke Hundley, who was having an affair with Marni’s husband Steve Phillips, went to the Phillips home to drop off a letter to her.
Also note the Facebook message from Hundley that I posted above. The incident happened on August 21, two days before the Facebook update.
During the call, Marni said, “I have a crazy woman who is involved with my husband and she’s come to my house to harm me and my children.“
Marni also states that when Brooke saw her, she “got in her car, put it in reverse and smashed the rear end of her vehicle into the stone column … cut across our grass, avoiding the driveway completely, driving erratically over rocks and mulch beds to maneuver her vehicle down our hill.”

22-year-old ESPN employee Brooke Hundley, who had sex three times with ESPN’s Steve Phillips, who was still married at the time, wrote this Oct. 5 message currently on her Facebook account: “David Letterman yet another dirtbag with no morals on television surprise surprise….Jimmy Kimmel’s better anyhow.”
Today she messaged her Facebook friends: “Don’t believe everything you read in the papers … If you’re a friend of me, it’s like the papers have or will ask you to comment. Please refrain from saying anything.”
This afternoon, Phillips announced that he is taking an indefinite leave of absence from ESPN, following his initial one-week suspension from the network. He has not been fired, and the leave is apparently voluntary.
I spoke this morning to a former acquaintance of Hundley’s. Here’s what that person had to say about Phillips’ fling. Read more…
By now you’re quite familiar with Brooke Hundley, the wacky gal with the Steve Phillips fixation who went all Kathy Bates in “Misery” on us today (and there but for the grace of God go you, David Letterman). Here’s another Hundley fun fact: In 2007 she wrote to the dean of communications at her alma mater, Ithaca College, to give advice on media networking. That advice is both fun and revealing.
Included in the letter are several tips on getting ahead in the business, which she picked up at the International Radio and Television Society’s annual minority career workshop and job fair. The dean, Diane Gayeski, posted Hundley’s letter on her blog. When read in the light of current events, they are not only hilarious, but leak irony from every vowel.

Well, that didn’t take long. Thanks to Internet and its magical powers, we’ve already got more pictures for today’s big story. According to THE BIG LEAD, two ESPN staffers are claiming that this is the infamous Brooke Hundley, a.k.a. the woman Steve Phillips gambled half his net worth on:
(They seem like a happy couple. This could still work.)
The pictures originally came from THE PRODUCERS BLOG, of WEEI in Boston. For that, Phillips has earned a divorce from his family and a week-long suspension from the WWL.
Larger versions of the pictures - though, thankfully, not large enough to see Phillips’ penis birthmark - are after the break.
