CBC SPORTS sticks us the news that a new deal between the NLL and its players was reached on Wednesday, a week after the pro lacrosse league announced they were canceling its upcoming season. After Wednesday’s talks were broken off around 5 p.m., emails were shuttled back & forth between commissioner Jim Jennings and reps of the Professional Lacrosse Players’ Association. The two sides apparently came to terms around 8 p.m.

The PLPA was looking to increase salaries and re-do their collective bargaining agreement. After last week’s talks reached an impasse, Jennings met again with the players’ group to try and resurrect the season.

However, the 14-team league’s Board of Directors still has to approve the new deal. A vote is scheduled for Thursday.Stay tuned.
