Auburn recently announced that it has commissioned an artist to create a 10-foot statue of Cam Newton to honor the quarterback for winning the 2010 Heisman Trophy.

The same artist, Ken Bjorge, recently completed statues of Auburn Heisman winners Bo Jackson at Pat Sullivan, which were scheduled to be unveiled on campus before Auburn’s spring football game on Saturday, will instead be undercover until the Newton statue is completed in October.

The CHICAGO SUN-TIMES recently chatted with with the former two-sport star, who’s opening up the Bo Jackson Elite Sports Complex in suburban Lockport.When asked to weigh in on the Barry Bonds situation, Bo wasn’t too hip on getting involved: “The steroid issue is out of my league, because I barely watch baseball anymore.
“But I will support Barry until someone or something proves he is guilty. Personally, I don’t think he has done anything illegal.”
If Bo barely bothers with baseball nowadays, how can he tell if Bonds is innocent?
