‘Pseudologia Fantastica’: Tiger Lies Look Clinical

Since Hank Haney quit as Tiger Woods’ swing coach, he’s slowly become more and more candid about the dysfunctional relationship he had with the golfer. Haney completely pulled back the curtain to John Huggan of Scotsman.com on Sunday, confirming the astonishing level of deception of the public by his client:

Tiger Woods Lying Has Gone Clinical

Excerpt from Huggan’s piece on Haney:

Quite the contrary, in fact. Even since his latest return to competition at last month’s Masters, Woods noticeably failed to stick up for the man who has stood by his side – actually behind him on the range – for nearly 40 tournament victories, including six major championships. Just last week at the Players Championship (where he withdrew after six holes of the final round citing a neck injury), the world’s best golfer was asked about the state of his relationship with Haney.

In response there was, as ever, no statement of support for Haney and his swing philosophies. Instead, Woods’ typically curt response merely confirmed that the two were “still working together”. One day later, his answer to speculation that he was about to fire Haney, was just as disingenuous: “Hank and I talk every day, so nothing has changed.”

But even that seemingly simple statement was, in fact, more than debatable. Since the Masters almost a month before, the only contact between the two men had been a pair of short texts. They had not spoken directly and they certainly had not spent time on the practice range. So while the world of golf was privately and publicly slagging off Haney because of Woods’ increasingly erratic driving, the reality was that the man getting the blame had had no opportunity to rectify any swing faults. Just one more thing Tiger neglected to mention.

“I wish he had stood up in a press conference and announced, at the very least, that he was sick of all the criticism, that he backed me and that he believed in me,” says Haney. “But he never did.”

Then there’s this from Ron Sirak of GolfDigest.com two days before Woods pulled out of The Players Championship with a neck injury:

“Knee’s good,” Woods said rather dismissively when asked about his health after the round. “No, zero. Absolutely 100 percent,” he added when pressed on whether there were any physical issues. He was also asked about the Achilles tendon problem he had last year but did not reveal until last month.

In quitting the tournament on Sunday, Woods said that his neck had been bothering him since two weeks before The Masters.

Obviously Woods has lied about his personal life to everyone over the years, but now we’re starting to verify his seemingly pointless lies to the golf media. Read more…

Tiger’s Neighbor Trashes Golfer On PPV Website

Isleworth resident and Tiger Woods next-door neighbor Jerome “Jay” Adams, Jr., has launched a pay-per-view website which he claims will provide, “true stories of Tiger’s unscripted persona never shared until now.” James also claims in a preview video on the site that he will later give his own “eyewitness account” of the Woods car accident scene on Nov. 27.

Tiger Woods neighbor Jerome James creates website to trash golfer

Adams was indeed a witness to the scene of the Thanksgiving night car accident of Woods, but it was his brother Jarius who provided details to police:

“I saw Tiger laying on the ground. [His wife,] Elin, was talking to him. And from that point, I immediately ran back to the house,  got the phone, dialed 911 and ran back out of the house again to seeif she needed any assistance or whatever the case was going on.”

Additionally, Jarius James told police Woods was “actually snoring” as he attempted to hold the golfer down on the ground after the accident and that the golfer was not noticeably bleeding.

He was pretty much clean,” Jarius James said.

The James family later hired a lawyer, Bill Sharpe, to hold a press conference about what family members observed at the accident scene. The ORLANDO SENTINEL reported on Sharpe’s presser:

Sharpe said the Adams said there was no indication that Woods and his wife were arguing. “The implication is: Was he beat up by a golf club? That’s what everybody wants to know. No,” Sharpe said. “None of his injuries looked like he had been beat up by his wife.”

Sharpe also said the family told police officers that Woods didn’t seem under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

WFTV-Channel 9’s Kathi Belich also reported that the family said it didn’t see “any argument going on between Woods and his wife, but they also did not see any golf club. It’s not easy to break a vehicle window, yet two of Tiger Woods’ windows were broken out. The story we’ve heard is that his wife, Elin, claimed to have broken the windows to rescue him from the SUV with a golf club.”

Belich added that the family “just wanted to be good neighbors and they were, and they wanted to set the record straight about what they saw and what they didn’t see.”

Jerome Adams in the preview video on his site said that Woods attorney Mark NeJame contacted James family attorney Sharpe three hours before the press conference and that NeJame, “informed us that Tiger’s attorneys would like to craft a statement that was going to be read.

James goes on to claim in the same video on his new pay-per-view website that now his family wants to tell exactly what happened that night.

But if James wants to get the story out, why is he charging $4-a-throw for the privilege of hearing it?

In the free video and first $3.99 PPV clip on the site, Jerome James alleges various garden-variety slights from Woods that James and his family supposedly endured from the golfer over the years.

But James does make one very serious claim about Woods and his treatment of wife Elin Nordegren. Read more…

Elin, Kids Back Home; Is Divorce Now Or Never?

RadarOnline.com and TMZ.com reported late Tuesday that Elin Nordegren and her two children returned to Orlando on Tuesday night. Elin’s return comes perhaps not coincidentally with Woods in Jacksonville for The Players Championship this weekend.

Elin Nordegren Returns With Her Children To Orlando From Sweden

Scores of anonymously-sourced tabloid reports have Elin and Woods soon to divorce, with both having recently, reportedly consulted divorce attorneys. If that indeed is a possibility, it figures that a formal, legal separation agreement could begin to take shape in the next week.

Woods will probably play next at The Memorial on June 3-6 in Ohio, using the Jack Nicklaus signature event, where he is defending champ, as a tuneup for the U.S. Open on June 17-20 at Pebble Beach. So beginning Monday, perhaps Woods and Elin could be in close proximity for the first extended period of time since The Masters. (Three weeks.)

Might that be a window to negotiate a formal, legal separation? Read more…

Thanksgiving Accident Cop Is Employed By Tiger

As part of a lengthy investigative piece on the Windermere Police Department that initially responded to the Tiger Woods Thanksgiving car accident, Henry Pierson Curtis and Susan Jacobson of the ORLANDO SENTINEL report that two members of that force were under the employ of Woods as family bodyguards when the golfer’s accident took place.

Tiger Woods Car Accident Cop Was Employed By Woods At The Time

One of those officers, Timothy N. Cash, was the second member of law enforcement to respond to the accident, leaving his own beat to “reach the crash scene first.

The Sentinel notes of that same Windermere Police Dept.:

Several current and former officers have a history of legal troubles: drug abuse, domestic violence, lying and assault, according to court and police records reviewed in six counties by the Orlando Sentinel.

The Orlando print outlet also reports that, “two of those officers are bodyguards whom Woods trusted with the safety of his wife, Elin Nordegren, and their two children.Read more…

Tiger Blog Post: ‘Family’ Mention Leaves Out Elin

Tiger Woods posted a blog entry today on his official website that gives his version of what he’s been up to since The Masters. It’s the first somewhat candid blog entry by Woods since his Thanksgiving car accident. (Designed to combat tabloid reports about his family’s activities?)

Tiger Woods Blog Post: Family Reference Doesn't Include Elin

In the post, Woods addresses his strong language at The Masters, congratulates Phil Mickelson for winning the tournament. (Finally). He also notes a recent round of golf at Isleworth in which he shot 63 but was apparently not joined by Michael Jordan and Fred Couples. RadarOnline.com posted photos yesterday that it claimed showed Woods, Jordan and Couples playing golf at Isleworth on last Tuesday.

The most interesting part of the blog entry though was Woods recounting his recent “family” time. Read more…

Tiger Woods Golf With Michael Jordan Photos

Now, with wife Elin in Sweden with their children, Tiger reunited with his old pal Tuesday and Wednesday as they played golf in his Isleworth community.

RadarOnline.com obtained exclusive photos of the golf outing. (Yes, we know, the quality of the photos is terrible, but you get the idea!)

While it’s highly unlikely anyone will get confirmation of the golf outing from Woods or Jordan, Radar reports that a prominent PGA Tour golfer also joined them that day. Read more…

Elin’s Mom Not “Ailing”, Never Went To Arizona

If you look back at what you think you know about the Tiger Woods story starting the day after Thanksgiving, much of your perception of what happened can be attributed to what the most credible outlets at the time were reporting. Like PEOPLE magazine.

Elin's Mom Not In Arizona As Reported By People

Monday it was reported by People that Tiger Woods wife Elin Nordegren flew to the Phoenix area to visit her “ailing mom” in the hospital, prominent Swedish politician Barbro Holmberg:

“Elin’s mother is having private treatments in the U.S., ” a source tells PEOPLE of Elin hopping a flight to pay her ailing mom a hospital visit. “Even though it is paid for in Sweden, her mother had private treatments here before and really liked where she was.”

But a prominent newspaper in Stockholm, Sweden, reported earlier today that a spokesman for Holmberg confirmed Wednesday that Elin’s mom isn’t “ailing” nor is she in Arizona. Read more…

Is Tiger’s Discolored Tooth Result Of Elin Attack?

On Dec. 7, 2009, STAR Magazine reported that Tiger Woods had one of his teeth broken by a phone thrown by wife Elin Nordegren as part of a confrontation that preceded the golfer’s infamous Thanksgiving night accident. (Star Magazine is the sister publication to the NATIONAL ENQUIRER, which broke the first Woods infidelity story.)
