Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donté Stallworth hit a pedestrian with his Bentley Saturday morning; the man was declared dead at a local trauma center. The dead man is described as an employee of exclusive Fisher Island. He was hit trying to cross a busy causeway near the island; it’s not clear if he crossed illegally.
No charges have been filed against Stallworth at this time. He has submitted to questioning and provided blood samples. He was reported to be in the NFL substance abuse program in 2007.
Stallworth signed a one-year contract with the New England Patriots after the report surfaced. He spent 2008 with the Browns and had little impact. Stallworth
has come came to terms with the Cleveland Browns for a 7-yr./$35m contract last season , but it is not clear if the contract has been signed yet.
