Pack Charges Vikes w/Tampering Over Favre Chat

This whole Brett Favre saga is just getting sad. We really don’t want to talk about it anymore - not just because we’re tired of it, but the Green Bay Packers might accuse us of tampering if we do.

Brett Favre talks with Minnesota Vikings fan

Jay Glazer of FOX SPORTS reports that Pack are in fact charging the Minnesota Vikings with the very same thing.

Favre had been chatting recently with Darrell Bevell, a friend & former assistant coach with the Packers. The problem is that Darrell is currently the Vikings’ offensive coordinator, and Brett is still technically under contract with Green Bay (thus his release request - and the subsequent denial).

So the Packers are now bringing their case to the NFL head office, accusing the Vikes of “inappropriate dialogue” with one of their players. Minnesota denies any wrongdoing.

But it’s all up to Roger Goodell & Co. to make the final decision. If found guilty, the Vikings could face hefty fines & loss of draft picks.

Just when the league thought they finally put that whole Spygate mess to rest, this new Favre fiasco springs up. Pete Rozelle never had to deal with this kind of stuff.
