Earlier today TMZ.com reported:
Eva Longoria and Tony Parker are getting divorced … TMZ has learned. Tony filed for divorce yesterday in Texas.
After TMZ broke the story, Longoria’s public relations firm released the following statement to me via email:
We spoke to a rep for Tony, and TMZ’s story is 100% false, Tony did NOT file for divorce from Eva.
After its initial break, TMZ subsequently reported:
Eva’s people tell TMZ Tony has not filed for divorce. But two court officials at the Bexar County, Texas courthouse tell us a divorce case was filed yesterday and sealed by the judge.
There’s currently no record of any civil proceeding involving Longoria or Parker on the Bexar County Court website.
UPDATE: TMZ.com has removed the post that reported the divorce from the front of its website.
UPDATE 2: TMZ posted the following:
TMZ reported that Tony had filed for divorce. Two clerks at the Bexar County Courthouse in Texas had told us the case was filed and sealed by a family law judge.
But Eva’s rep tells us Tony did not file and does not even have a divorce lawyer.
Another clerk at the courthouse now tells us she’s in charge of sealed cases and says no such case has crossed her desk.
Not exactly a retraction from TMZ, but a quasi-acknowledgement that its story may indeed be false.
Longoria has long been an advocate against spurious tabloid gossip who isn’t afraid to threaten legal action. With this an either/or-type story, you would think that Longoria would demand a complete retraction - if she’s indeed correct and there’s absolutely nothing to TMZ’s report.

I have zero compassion for overpaid (and they all are) celebrities and superstars as 99% of them think that they are better than the rest of of. TMZ (as well as SBB) does a great job of making them look like buffoons. And sorry, celebs lose there right to privacy when they become celebs, it’s part of the job description. They make money on the public, so they become public,, don’t like it?,,, try a real job or shut the F*ck up.
But every once in a while TMZ, and other like “ilk” (this site included) cross the line. Calling out dumb ass celebs is one thing but flat out lying and not verifying sources is a plain waste and insulting the intelligence of everyone. This was one of those times.,, eff you TMZ.

Ummmm why did Eva’s people have to call Tony’s people…if you were so good, wouldn’t that be a pretty easy story to figure? Maybe her people and his people don’t…they should get the same people.

In other words Eva, it is over. You guys just want this thing to play out in the news the way you want it to, not the eager rat journalist wanting to get the story out with their name attached t it.
Yo Tony and Eva, screw people your own age will ya.
