There has been a lot made of Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo’s relationship in the media for the last few years, and for the most part, the two of them would like to keep things private. Well, at least Romo would like to keep it private. It seems like Jessica will talk about it anytime you give her a chance to. Still, it appears Romo may be relenting on that front.
(Hey, Jess - can I borrow a robe?)
The two of them were interviewed for a story about themselves in the newest issue of VANITY FAIR, and in it we learn quite a few things. We find out that Jessica doesn’t sit with the players’ wives during the game because it “gives me anxiety to watch with them” and that she’s “never dated a guy who was more simple.” We also learn that Simpson’s lack of faith in the Cowboys offensive line has caused her to become an email spammer:
At games, Jessica sits in a skybox, hands over her eyes, a girl at a monster movie, too scared to watch. “She comes to a ton of games,” Romo said. “She’s a supportive girlfriend.” Her country album includes the song “You’re My Sunday,” which is about … well, you know. “I was always a fan,” she told me. “In Texas, it’s a sin not to be. But I’ve never been as passionate as I am now. Before a game, I’m crazed, sending mass e-mails: ‘Please pray for Tony’s protection.’”
“Dear God. Please protect momma and poppa and sister Ashley and her family, feed all the starving children of the world, bring peace to the world, and please protect Tony blindside. That Flozell Adams needs all the help he can get!”
Oops, she forgot to pray for this guy. What? She gets blamed for everything else that goes wrong with the Cowboys, you gotta figure that’s her fault, too.
Oh, and since you were kind enough to read the whole post, here are some more pictures from the VANITY FAIR spread.
