Pacman Jones is no more.

Adam Jones is reportedly asking that he no longer be referred to by that name. So for that reason, I look forward to calling him Pacman for another 10 years.

According to Adam Schefter of NFL Network, Pacman no longer wants to be called Pacman. Instead of attempting to adopt a new moniker, Jones simply wants to be known as “Adam.”

Jones is, as a practical matter, parting ways with an identity that has been with him for most of his life. Though it’s symbolic, it’s a symbol that he just might be maturing.

Or it simply could be shrewd PR. Yeah, it’s hard to think of a guy named Adam having friends that would shoot up a strip club. And that’s just how Jerry Jones wants it. As for actually keeping him out of the clubs? Well, good luck with that.
