DIM BULB EVA’S BRIGHT IDEA - $40K CAKE BAKED IN CALI: BEN MALLER reports that the wedding cake for Tony Parker and Eva Longoria’s wedding will cost upwards of $15,000 to make - in California.

Instead of having the gigantic confection manufactured in the country most famous for its food, France, the couple will have the cake flown in for the nuptials - first class (along with an escort).

The wedding is scheduled for July 7. The cost of two first class plane tickets from Los Angeles to Paris on July 5:

That price is for one person, one-way. So with the cost of the cake $15K, and two plane tickets costing $23,000, the complete price tag of the cake reaches nearly $40K.

Sam Godfrey is the owner of the bakery that will make the cake, and he also baked Oprah’s 50th birthday cake, which is described by Mark Malkin of E!ONLINE: “Godfrey created a banana cake for Miss O.’s 50th birthday celebration that was shipped from the Napa Valley to Chicago. Including the nearly 1,000 handmade edible flowers that took five people six days to create, the entire cake took 396 hours to make!”
