The Broncos may be in first place in the dreadful AFC West, but they need to start worrying a bit more about winning football games than discussing the nightclub antics of their opponents. Denver fell to 4-4 with a 26-17 loss at home to the Dolphins on Sunday, and the team hasn’t won since Jay Cutler popped off about having the strongest arm in the league and started comparing himself to John Elway.

Now, Brandon Marshall has decided to start unloading on Joey Porter — after the Dolphins came in and punked the Broncos on Sunday. He gets off a couple good shots, including one about Porter’s shirtless dancing out at the clubs.

Lee Rasizer of the ROCKY MOUNTAIN NEWS has Marshall’s response to Porter’s contention that he’s “soft”:

“Joey Porter’s one of those guys, when you’ve got guys who talk a lot of trash and want to talk about people or put people down, they have their own insecurities. His insecurities, I don’t know,” Marshall said.

“But he’s definitely one of those guys who all those muscles are popcorn muscles. He’s soft. We hear stories floating around the league all the time about him, as far as him being in nightclubs, dancing with his shirt off like a girl, or in the playground getting beat up back in California,” Marshall added. “He’s one of those guys that no matter how big he is, he can still get knocked on his butt. He’s soft. And you can tell the way he’s talking. His nickname’s ‘Peezy’. I don’t know what ‘Peezy’ is, Joey.”

Porter is a king of trash-talk, and he claims that he got into Marshall’s head this week when he said he was soft and that he liked to “mope and cry.” Marshall had a season-worst two catches for 27 yards against the Dolphins.

Perhaps if the Broncos put as much into their preparation for football games as they do into their quotes for the media, they’d be taking advantage of having a division title handed to them on a silver platter. Instead, they’re just one game up on a Chargers team that has been a total mess.
