The Milledgeville (GA) Police Dept. held a press conference Friday to address a sexual assault allegation against Ben Roethlisberger.
Police clarified during the newser that Roethlisberger is being investigated for sexual assault, not rape. The alleged victim, 20, is from Milledgeville and accompanied Roethlisberger throughout the evening to more than one establishment.
The complaint took place around 2a ET Friday morning and Roethlisberger was interviewed by police briefly after the incident was reported.
Roethlisberger’s agent Ryan Tollner also released a statement to the media today regarding the allegations.
“Last night, Ben and his friends met a group of women and everyone mingled together throughout the evening. We have spoken to law enforcement.
“Based on information currently available, an allegation was made against Ben, which appeared to be dismissed after a preliminary investigation last night.
“Obviously, given the prior accusation against Ben, we are skeptical of motive, but we will continue to cooperate with everyone involved.”
There seems to be a dramatic disconnect between police and Team Roethlisberger.
One of the keys to the investigation will obviously be if the victim showed any signs of a sexual assault during her visit to the hospital. Police gave no indication of that at the news conference.

I am disappointed that Ben would allow himself to be in this position again. We are Steelers fans but the fact is he calls himself a Christian. This lifestyle is not in character of a true Christian (not someone who just claims to be one.) Make up your mind Ben. What life do you want for yourself????? You don’t have to be around these kinds of people that are going to cause you these problems, guilty or not guilty, you shouldn’t be in places like this. I agree with Revelation!! I love Ben Roethlisberger but it’s almost as if he either doesn’t remember the distress he is still experiencing from the last assault allegation or he just doesn’t care enough to realize that he needs to learn from the first girl-don’t have sex with women you don’t know!! Don’t you see the $$$ signs in their eyes? Keep your privates private and yes, have parties at your own house where you don’t run the risk of getting into trouble. If there is evidence that Ben and this 20 year old had sex, he may end up in trouble and won’t be able to get out of this one. Maybe this is why he can’t keep a girlfriend. They’re tired of him sleeping around with other strange women and now are probably skeptical about having any kind of trustworthy relationship with him. Put your head on straight Ben-you’re not a college kid anymore!! Grow up!!

What’s the evidence of assault? Was she beaten? Witnesses? How could it have happened ? Where? DNA? What’s her history? Is he a violent drunk? An alcoholic? I suspect this is yet another case of A) predatory female (and if true a sad example, harming the chances of the many truly victimized women receiving justice) or B) precatory male, thinking he can do anything he wants. Either way somebody needs some serious legal consequences so these kinds of occurences decrease. Probably result in a fine for the bartender who served her.

I put my money on the opportunistic young female theory. With that said, Ben needs to settle down and stop putting himself in these positions. Once the blood is in the water the sharks are drawn from all over. And “sexual assault” is one of those intentionally broad and ambiguous charges that could include simple propositioning or grinding on the dance floor, depending on how badly someone wants to be a “victim.” And I’m not saying real, dangerous assaults don’t happen but in a considerable portion of them, the victim has an agenda.

I don’t know the truth. I’d like to believe that Ben isn’t a perv. I’d like to think that this girl made a drunken allegation. But I don’t know.
what I do know is. 28year-old NFL stars don’t need to be hanging out in rural town college bars… If a Philly Eagle walked into one of the bars in my college town, I would know the night wasn’t going to end great.
